Stronger Taste Chinese Oolong Tea Wuyi Oolong Tea Good For Multiple Infusions
wuyi oolong tea is a Wuyi rock tea grown in the Wuyi Mountains. It is a heavily oxidized, dark oolong tea. According to the legend, the mother of a Ming dynasty emperor was cured of an illness by a certain tea, and that emperor sent great red robes to clothe the four bushes from which that tea originated. Six of these original bushes growing on a rock on the Wuyi Mountains and reportedly dating back to the Song dynasty, still survive today and are highly venerated. The name “Da Hong Pao” (or “Big Red Robe” in English) is alleged to have come from a few different stories; some stories that say its tea bushes were so revered that they were cloaked in red robes by imperial officials, while others simply claim the name was a poetic description for the color of local tea bushes when dusk light is cast through their newly grown leave.
